The National Student Advertising Competition is held annually, and is sponsored by a client who provides a case study outlining the history of its product and current advertising situation. For this campaign, our client was Nissan. We were to create a fully integrated marketing communications campaign for Nissan targeted toward multicultural millennials, while focusing on one of their core values, innovation. Our solution was the “Translation” Campaign. Nissan tells you what innovation is and how it works, but they don’t tell you why it matters. My team and I created intriguing headlines and images that literally translate the innovations that Nissan cars have, and why they should matter to multicultural millennials. This campaign placed first in districts and third in the national competition.
